Rittenhouse Row is growing as a premier retail destination in Center City, with a significant increase in new leasing activity and a drop in vacancy rates. The neighborhood has attracted a diverse range of high-profile retailers and has become a sought-after location for urban shopping, catering to digitally native and expansion-minded fashion brands. Keeping Center City Philadelphia clean, safe and attractive since 1991.
About us
The Center City District (CCD), Central Philadelphia Development Corporation (CPDC), and Center City District Foundation (CCDF) share a common mission: to enhance the vitality of Center City Philadelphia as a thriving 24-hour downtown and a great place to live, work or have fun. In addition, the CCD is responsible for the management of Dilworth, Sister Cities, John F. Collins and Cret Parks, four extraordinary public spaces in the heart of Center City. The organizations are governed by separate boards of directors, but share a common staff and offices.

During this heat wave, we appreciate our Community Service Representatives (CSRs) for continuing to be a welcoming presence in Center City. As the eyes and ears of Center City, they interact with the public to provide information or directions and are equally prepared to administer first aid, request police services and more.

I sometimes joke that Paul Levy hired me to work at Center City District because he was sick of me sending him pictures of my children playing at Sister Cities and Dilworth Park. Fun fact: Anuj Gupta and I held among the first children’s birthday parties at Sister Cities Park, 11 years ago; contact Kathleen Laux for more information to park rental events (and, why yes, I am getting misty eyed thinking about the once tiny girl about to turn 15). It’s an honor to be part of the team providing these meaningful places for all Philadelphians. And nice to see Sister Cities Park get some love from the The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Center City stands out favorably when compared to the region's two largest suburban malls. Not only can Center City claim to be the sole location for many exciting brands, but it also offers many of the same stores found in Cherry Hill and King of Prussia. Center City's shopping experience not only rivals its suburban counterparts in terms of accessibility to a large customer base, but it also excels in its proximity to areas with high concentrations of wealth.
