In Fall 2023, Black Educator Advocates Network surveyed Black educators across the state to learn about their experiences regarding their workplace and school culture. The California Black Educator Survey revealed that school conditions still carry the same residue of anti-black practices and policies that were responsible for the decline of Black educators post Brown V. Board of Education. Over the past five months, The Black Educator Advocates Network has collaborated with Black educators, school and district leaders, and school psychologists to co-create the Liberatory Black Educator Retention Framework. This framework serves as a guide for school leaders and districts as we collectively work to restore dignity in the work of Black educator retention. On April 11th at 5:30pm, join BEAN in the launch of this framework at ORA in Leimert Park.
