Harvard Kennedy School graduate Samantha Beck helped tackle childcare challenges in the City of Boise, Idaho as a Bloomberg Harvard City Hall Fellow by assisting city staff to streamline permitting processes, cut fees, and reduce wait times. She also piloted new approaches to helping building owners make the switch to geothermal, as well as helping existing customers—including City Hall—use their heat more efficiently. Now she is taking her skills in innovation leadership to the NYC Department of Environmental Protection. By leading at the city level, she says, “You’re closer to the people…and you have access to the budget and tools you need to implement change.” Read about her impact here: https://bit.ly/40hVSBf.
