A Powerful Voice in a Child's Life
About us
CASA of Travis County speaks up for children who’ve been abused or neglected by empowering our community to volunteer as advocates for them in the court system. When the state steps in to protect a child’s safety, a judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to make independent and informed recommendations in the child’s best interest.

Angelica coordinated phone calls between Daniel and his mom and provided transportation for in-person visits. Our Family Engagement (FE) team also located a network of extended family, helping ensure ongoing connections and support for both Daniel and his mother. Daniel's time in foster care is not over yet; he and his mother still have a journey ahead of them. CASA will stand by Daniel's side until the case closes, advocating for his best interests, safety, and promising future. (3/3) - Thank YOU for supporting our mission this past year and for helping us provide a powerful voice of a CASA volunteer for kids like Daniel.💙

Overwhelmed and missing his mom, Daniel ran away, sneaking through his bedroom window and calling Angelica. Once Daniel was back at his placement, our Quality and Safety team worked with CPS to create a plan, helping to ensure his well-being. Meanwhile, Daniel's mother also needed assistance, including transportation to therapy and eventually to an inpatient treatment center. To help eliminate these barriers, our Bridge to Permanency Fund and Resource Specialist provided immediate support and sustainable solutions... (2/3)

⏪Follow along this week as we take a look back on our impact in 2023 through Daniel's story: - Daniel loves soccer, Pokémon, and Snow Cone Friday. Just after starting 5th grade, he was placed in foster care while his mother took steps to manage her struggles with substance abuse. When Angelica, his bilingual CASA volunteer, was assigned to the case, she became Daniel's champion. Daniel's placement did not include anyone who could speak Spanish, so her advocacy began immediately. The court responded quickly, ordering a new placement for Daniel... - Come back tomorrow for part two! (1/3)
