We are so grateful for our dedicated CASAs like Francine Morrison who support our mission in such creative ways. In addition to volunteering as a CASA for the past 16 years, Francine is always trying to help recruit new CASA volunteers. Thank you Francine for hosting a brunch in your home to share your story with your friends and neighbors! Learn more about how you can become a Court Appointed Special Advocate by visiting casaoc.org

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Orange County (CASA OC) would like to extend our gratitude to our wonderful community partners at the Hyundai Capital America Latinx-Hispanic Alliance, who came to our offices this week to set up an altar for our Dia De Los Muertos celebrations, as well as assembled goodie bags for an event planned for CASA matches this coming weekend. November 2nd traditionally celebrates the unity of life and death when the spirits of loved ones who have died, return to earth to celebrate with friends and family. Traditionally, families will build an altar with pictures of loved ones, foods they enjoyed, and objects that remind us of them. For youth in foster care, it may be hard to access opportunities to celebrate this date, so CASA OC is providing a space to do so. It is a beautiful time to remember loved ones and celebrate traditions, and it's a special way to move through the grief that comes with the deep loss of a loved one. Thank you to Hyundai Capital Latinx-Hispanic Alliance members (Maricela Casteneda, Yvette Cornejo, Alexi Romero, Jose Bernal) for helping us prepare for a special Dia De Los Muertos event!
