The OLA Virtual Career Fair will connect OLA's prospects (aspiring actuaries) — made up of college/university students, recent graduates, and career changers from all over the U.S. — with OLA corporate sponsors who are seeking Latine actuarial talent and didn’t get a chance to recruit at our Early Career Symposium earlier this month. We are thrilled to share the winners of the 2024 CAS Student Central Summer Program Case Competition! At the end of the CAS Student Central Summer Program, participants have the opportunity to highlight their skills and knowledge gained throughout the eight-week program by presenting with their cohort to a panel of judges. Congratulations to the participants of the 2024 CAS Student Central Summer Program! Over the past several weeks, hundreds of students worldwide through the Mentor-led, East Asia, and Independent programs, have been building their actuarial skills and learning about P&C specific topics. The CAS would like to thank all of the volunteers who participated as mentors, speakers, and case competition judges. This program would not be possible without volunteers like you! 

With the 2024 CAS Student Central Summer Program wrapping up this week, we wanted to highlight the recent participants of the first ever CAS Student Central Summer Scholars Program. The Summer Scholars Program is a unique opportunity for a select group of motivated individuals who successfully complete the mentor-led program to receive a series of benefits for the academic year following the program. Students benefited from additional networking with practicing actuaries, virtual events, opportunities to attend in person CAS meetings, and more! Below one of our members, María Emilia Puente, reflects on her experiences as a 2023 Summer Scholar.  “Being part of the CAS Student Central Scholars Program has been an invaluable experience. The networking sessions, mock interview, and career advancement resources were incredibly helpful. Through the program, I was also honored to receive a travel scholarship to attend the 2023 CAS Annual Meeting. This chance to engage with practicing actuaries and other motivated students was truly inspiring.”
