Our Torrance HQ had a great time at our 4th Annual CarParts.com Volunteer Day last week, teaming up with Heal the Bay to clean up a local shoreline! Over 25 team members gathered at Hermosa Beach for a fun and impactful cleanup, demonstrating our commitment to giving back to our communities. In just two hours, we collected 53 pounds of trash, including 433 cigarette butts! Kudos to the "Beach Bums" team – Tina Mirfarsi, Hunter Brabham, Eric Zhang, and Roel Cesar Cabbab – for winning the challenge of collecting the most cigarettes – 136 total! These events are never about winning, but a little friendly competition made it even more fun – plus it didn’t hurt that the winning team got JC Whitney bucket hats. Thank you to Heal the Bay for educating us on the impact of marine debris and the importance of protecting our oceans. The day was not only educational but also a great team-building experience. Our second “Wrench & Talk” was a resounding success! We delved into the critical world of ACES and PIES with Principal Ryan Henderson and Catalog Content Analyst SCOTT BARAJAS, hosted by Tina Mirfarsi, our SVP of Global Communications & Culture. Ryan and Scott highlighted the importance of data governance from a macro level across all industries, down to the day-to-day sharing of information. They then explained data consistency within the automotive aftermarket industry, through ACES and PIES, is critical as these standards ensure accuracy and consistency in our ever-growing catalog of over 1 million parts.
