The CHIPS Act is fueling a surge in domestic semiconductor manufacturing, bringing growth and opportunity to communities nationwide. However, the massive water demands of these fabs—up to 10 million gallons per day per facility—pose unique challenges for municipalities. In his article for Water Technology Magazine, "Managing water infrastructure for semiconductor fabs: Challenges and opportunities in the CHIPS Act era," Carollo’s John Rydzewski examines how communities can address these demands through innovative solutions and strong partnerships with manufacturers. John highlights the importance of strong partnerships between municipalities, semiconductor manufacturers, and regulatory agencies to align construction timelines with water resource recovery facility upgrades. Click here to read the full article and explore how communities are rising to the challenge of sustainable water management in the CHIPS Act era. https://lnkd.in/gQQ6cw4d

The RESPEC and Florida Drilling team concluded the rehabilitation of four of the City of Punta Gorda Florida production wells. Since the beginning of wellfield production in 2020, City Wells Nos. 3, 5, and 6 had significant decreases in capacity. Our team evaluated and tested the wells prior to rehabilitation, and after scrubbing the casing, performing jet development on the open hole, and acidizing the boreholes, Wells Nos. 3, 5, and 6 were all successfully brought back to their post-construction capacity and prolonged the useful life of these wells. In addition, Well No. 4 was backplugged in an effort to decrease or stabilize long-term water quality trends. We would like to thank Carollo Engineers, City of Punta Gorda Florida, and Florida Drilling for a successful rehabilitation project. We look forward to future collaboration! Our Carollo Cares team had an incredible time at the Yuma Water Festival in Yuma, Arizona! This inspiring event brought together 632 enthusiastic 4th graders, 26 dedicated teachers, and volunteers from across the community to explore water's vital role in our lives. Organized by Arizona Project WET (APW), the City of Yuma, Arizona, and Yum School District ONE, the festival was a shining example of the power of collaboration in promoting water sustainability. We were proud to join other volunteers in delivering engaging lessons that helped these young minds understand the importance of water stewardship. Events like this remind us that fostering curiosity and awareness at a young age is essential to building a future where water resources are protected and cherished. A big thank you to everyone who made this event possible and to the students and teachers for their enthusiasm and participation! We’re excited to continue supporting initiatives that connect communities and inspire the next generation of water champions.
