The stress of balancing work and life affects every person on your team. When was the last time you checked in to see how they’re doing? Every employee’s caregiving journeys come with unique needs. It’s important to hear from them individually about what those needs are. We’ve created an Employee Caregiving Survey that you can use as a starting point to gain valuable insights about the challenges facing the caregivers on your team. Download it here: https://hubs.li/Q02GvNqx0. If you learn that they could use more help than their current benefits deliver—that’s where we come in.

How do you ensure that your benefits are the right fit for your employees? It's a question many companies struggle to answer, particularly if they are not in tune with what their employees want or expect from their employer. As a starting point, look at your company's culture. What are your core values? What is the feeling you want employees to experience when interacting with the organization? The answers should inform not only the employee experience internally, but the way policies, procedures and even benefits are decided. In this new blog post, we dive into how some of our customers approach aligning their benefits offerings with their company culture: https://hubs.li/Q02GvMbv0. How do your benefits align with your organization's culture? If there's a disconnect, perhaps it's time to reevaluate. If you need to make some enhancements, particularly in the family-friendly solutions area, we're here to help.

    Putting People First

A Harvard Business School study that I read today as a part of my onboarding shared: "Over the last 50 years, the American economy has become dependent on women, with female labor-force participation peaking at 60% in 1999. More important, women represent a clear majority of enrollees in higher education: In 2015, more women had completed some college, or had a bachelor’s degree, than men. With more good-paying jobs expected to require a college degree in the future, U.S. employers will be more reliant on women to occupy hard-to-fill positions. Caregiving considerations, however, are likely to continue to impede the ability of women to occupy many of those jobs. Even though many men are taking up caregiving responsibilities, women still shoulder a disproportionate share of the caregiving load." Ooof! The rollercoaster of emotion that I experienced reading this. At first I was like "Hell yeah, let's go girls!" But then towards the end there, I was like "Oh yeah that totally tracks." Though the 'traditional household' looks a lot different for most in 2024, as a society we still rely heavily on women inside and outside of the home. This isn't a secret, you see tons of moms trying to "do it all" (myself now included) and I'm here to tell you that the weight of this much responsibility can sometimes feel crushing. Even if you have a supportive spouse or village of family members to pitch in. So what can we do about it? How can we improve as a society (and not just for women, but for everyone)? Everyone's situation is different, and there's certainly not a blanket answer that will satisfy everyone's needs. But some employers see an opportunity to assist and help their workforce with the ongoing burden of care. And how are employers doing this? By nurturing a care culture and offering caregiver support services such as Cariloop to their employees. As a woman, I am proud of the work we are doing here at Cariloop to assist with the ongoing burden of care at all levels.
