📊 New Research Alert: AI in #CareerDevelopment 🚀 We're excited to share our white paper: "Evaluating Career Development Outcomes for Coach, a GenAI Project by CareerVillage.org" (credit: Abby Lupi and Sarah Shaw) At CareerVillage, we're constantly exploring innovative ways to democratize access to #careerguidance. Our AI-powered tool, Coach, represents a significant step in this direction. But how effective is it really? 🤔 Early research provides some intriguing insights: 🎯 81% of participants in a small pilot study run by Generation.org reported that Coach provided effective employability coaching ⏱️ Participants spent less time on resume creation and interview preparation (potentially freeing up time for more personalized mentorship) 🤝 90% of participants prefer a blend of #AI coaching and human mentorship The white paper also introduces a comprehensive impact model for AI-assisted #careerreadiness, providing a framework for future research and development in this emerging field. We invite educators, career development professionals, researchers, and anyone interested in the future of career readiness to read the paper and join the conversation. Big thanks to the external parties with whom we have discussed these ideas over the past few years, including colleagues at Leanlab Education, WestEd, and RAND. We’d also like to thank Daniel Jarratt, Richard Sedlmayr, Julia Freeland Fisher, and Kyle Thornton!

Yesterday, Jared Chung had the opportunity to participate in the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco's EmergingTech Economic Research Network (EERN) event where he was joined by other leaders in the Philanthropy and Non-profit spaces to talk about GenAI. This gathering was a powerful reminder of how crucial it is for those on the front lines to share what they’re seeing, hearing, and learning. It’s equally important for organizations to learn from each other and remain in a continuous exchange of feedback. AI, when used correctly, can serve our communities and help address economic disparities. But to achieve this, transparency, openness, and collaboration are key. We are grateful to have been part of this forum and appreciate the San Francisco Federal Reserve for hosting these vital conversations. Let’s continue to stay engaged and work towards leveraging AI for the greater good! 🤝✨ #GenAI #AIforGood #EconomicOpportunity

CareerVillage's new AI Coach aims to help jobseekers identify career goals and skills training, improve applications, and prep for interviews. A great example of using generative AI to support and expand access to career development. Glad to see a nonprofit—and a longtime LinkedIn.org partner—out in front with this.
