Recently, the entire Nuveen Green Capital team held our all team retreat close to our NYC offices. Even though we've done a few of these now, in-person events continue to exceed expectations for a few reasons: - Positioning for continued growth. I witnessed several small points of connection and moments of clarity (for instance, different teams realizing they could help one another achieve their goals more quickly) that could have taken weeks of calls and meetings remotely, or might have otherwise slipped in priority - Better alignment. We quickly surfaced areas of the business that teams wanted to better understand, and in many cases were able to address these on the spot. - Affirming our culture. This one is harder to quantify... energy and engagement were high around our core mission of making clean energy a smart business decision and digging into how we can do this as a team. It was energizing to be around colleagues that genuinely wanted to be there, and something that continues to inspire me about this team. Thank you to Jez (Jeremy) Benton and the team at Canvas for another fantastic retreat!
