"You don't lose, you learn." - Trey, mentor at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & AAC Teaching #lifeskills to youth provide them opportunities to #grow, #learn, and have #fun. We partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & AAC, United States Marshals Service, and the #Annapolis Fire Department to not only play #Quickball (a fast-paced version of baseball) but to learn more about #sportsmanship, #respect, #leadership, and so much more through our #BadgesforBaseball program. Check out the video to see what this means for the Annapolis community.

Transform Communities, Change Kids' Lives
About us
Launched in 2001, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation honors the life and memory of the Ripken family patriarch, long-time mentor and coach, Cal Ripken, Sr. Since 2001, we have created youth development programs and outdoor recreational spaces that have impacted over 11,000,000 at-risk youth with the help of over 40,000 youth mentors, coaches, teachers, and law enforcement volunteers. Our mission is to continue to help strengthen America’s most underserved and distressed communities by supporting and advocating for children, building Youth Development Parks, partnering with law enforcement and youth service agencies, and addressing community needs including STEM education through our national program initiatives. The Foundation provides opportunities for kids to play in safe environment, live healthy lifestyles, gain access to STEM education, and learn to make productive choices for their futures. We owe our success to our dedicated national Board of Directors, our corporate, foundation, individual, state, and federal sponsors, and our youth partners who help us to impact 1.4 million at-risk youth across the country each year.

This past Friday, over 100 teachers from New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming came to Oklahoma City to #learn more about their Ripken Foundation #STEMCenter. Our incredible partners, Kid Spark Education, Sphero, Elenco Electronics, Makey Makey, Ozobot, Boxlight, and Terrapin came together to continue training for our teachers. A big shout out to The Home Depot, Worthington Direct, Marco, Boxlight, Terrapin, and ForwardSlip for donating educational products, a 3D printer, a wall wrap for a classroom, and a classroom makeover for some very lucky teachers! Finally, thank you to Devon Energy for sponsoring this event and supporting our #STEM initiative since 2019! Without you, none of this would be possible!

In a guest essay for Technical.ly, Cal Ripken, Jr. discussed how supporting #STEM education through #CRSF is an endeavor inspired by his dad and the importance of partnerships to achieve our goals and expand our reach. "When we first started, our goal was simply to honor dad and help a few kids in our hometown of Aberdeen, #Maryland. A lot has changed since then. Dad would be blown away by how much the foundation has grown into its current national scope." - CRJ "I’ve always said that we can do a lot of good things on our own, but with dedicated charitable partners, we can achieve great things. Our partnerships with Exelon, Tennessee Valley Authority, Group 1001, Devon Energy and so many more organizations are proof." -CRJ #YouthFoundation #nonprofit #education
We don’t usually have sports legends write for us but when Sameer Rao heard about Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation’s work launching 500 STEM centers across the nation — he got the Baltimore Orioles “Iron Man” to pen an essay on the mission.
