About us

Burial Beer Co. started out as Asheville's best kept secret in 2013, a “secret hideaway” that you stumble upon. Located in Asheville's, now named, "South Slope'' neighborhood, Burial has become a draw to many; a place of community. When it comes to our beer, we have a deep desire to memorialize certain beer styles and techniques from the Old World. Now Burial is known for taking traditional beers and infusing a modern twist on them. Since 2013 Burial not only expanded internally but demographically. In addition to Asheville's taproom, you can now visit us in Raleigh at The Exhibit, East Asheville's Forestry Camp Bar and Restaurant, and in Charlotte at The House of Relics. The recently resurrected historical Asheville property from the early 1900's is now known as Forestry Camp Bar and Restaurant. The ingredients used at our restaurant, much like the influential history of the property have a story. They have an origin and a meaning. Your visit here will transport you to a time where simplicity was honored, communities were connected and local farms were our life source.

From the darkness there is light. A beacon that Burial's brand and ethos is built on. A reminder that even during the most heartbreaking of times, our community will evolve together. We are living in a state of uncertainty, taking everything day by day and not knowing what the future looks like. Doug, Tim and I moved to Asheville 12 years ago in hopes of cultivating a life, finding community and putting down roots. I am so grateful for the people- those who families are generations deep in Asheville's history, those who came to build a life just like us and those who come to visit from time to time. This small yet mighty town continues to inspire me daily and I do not see that stopping. If anything, my inspiration will flourish. In the face of pain and devastation, we are trying our best to show up for the city and people that make Asheville... Asheville. We still have a lot of work to do to support the well being of our employees, our partners and our community. While we are unable to operate our taprooms and breweries in Asheville at this moment, we are grateful that our locations were spared from flood or wind damage, as we know far too many that were not. Thank you to those that are thinking of us, those who reached out and to those who believe in Asheville- dont stop.

A brief ballad for our beloved Charlotte taproom. It’s been 2 years since @burialclt set sail on Plaza Midwood in an ole brick building haunted by the likes of @borisnnatasha. Some of yall may have yet to meet Alissa, Lauren and the gang who pour our finest froth behind these walls. Maybe it’s time, now. For it’s the only spot to get the full Burial and Visuals experience in the Queen City. It’s become a dark and brooding taproom, a place to snag a Burial burger on your way home from work. Sure it’s a place to close out your workday, a place to taste a new wine before settling on a cocktail. But it’ll always be a home to our beer adventure, a place to stand on the roof deck and look out at the big sky while you go from lager to IPA, and taste the rarest lore we could unearth from our barrel collection. We’ve got something new for you. Always. Something odd and contemplative, just so the world ceases to be so mundane. Come hang.

Driven by texture. Shaped by experience. Molded by taste. The Curious Endeavor of An Unrelenting Intention. A Double IPA. Smeared with a bit of XTRA MAYO. A collaborative journey with @curatetapasbar. Made to reminisce on Spanish summertime. Melon and jamon within reach. You know by now that XTRA MAYO is all about flavor exploration. We keep the hop profile under wraps. We don't lead you with tasting notes. These beers are open for your interpretation. 8.0%. The objective of our pursuits may not always be evident. An unyielding sense of purpose is the fuel for exploration.

Things come and things go. Such is the balance of life we are presented at birth. A Brilliantly Deformed Corpse Nevertheless. An Imperial Stout with Cherries, Roasted Pistachio, Cocoa Nibs and Vanilla Bean. This was our first-ever collaboration with the human who paints our world, David Paul Seymour. Inspired by Spumoni, and our lust for visiting far off lands, this stout was made with roasted pistachios, alongside massive doses of French Broad cocoa nibs, Madagascar vanilla bean and northwestern dried bing cherries. Plate up some crumbled baklava, topped in cherry cream pie, chocolate ganache and a scoop of pistachio ice cream. 14%. The finest memoirs come along with it, into the earth with our bodies and into the ether with our thoughts.

Something fleeting for those who like to take the deep dive. We recently received 1,800 lbs of central California apricots. Hand processed and aged with house culture from our South Slope foudre, this small batch mixed culture beer will be bottled exclusively for our Burnpile VIP ticket holders this October. VIPs will also be receiving a Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stout from select stock as part of their take-home package. Less than 50 VIP spots remain, so if you'd like to secure these offerings, click here https://lnkd.in/etkEEqQA
