Earlier this month, Buchanan’s Hala Sandridge and Miranda Soto spoke at the University of South Florida Women in Leadership & Philanthropy Fall Symposium. This year’s event, themed “Ignite the Champion in You,” brought together more than 1,000 attendees. Hala, Miranda and fellow panelists led an important discussion on wellness in the workplace. Drawing from personal experiences, the panel detailed how to enhance your motivation, mindset and resilience.

Buchanan was honored this week as a 2024 Equal Justice Pro Bono Champion Award recipient by Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. (LSGMI). Buchanan was recognized for its dedication and support to LSGMI and the organization's clients. Buchanan’s Miami office partners with LSGMI on monthly pro bono clinics, encouraging lawyers to get involved and give back to the community.

Buchanan was recognized for outstanding knowledge, experience, innovation, and passion in legal technology by NetDocuments at its Inspire Customer Awards. The awards celebrate excellence in the utilization of technology to create a better way to work and deliver exceptional legal services. Buchanan received the 2024 Automation Award. 

In honor of National Family Caregivers Month in November, our C.A.R.E. Affinity Group—supporting caregivers of all types and their allies—is hosting a panel discussion on eldercare, with a special focus on caring for loved ones with dementia. The firm recently held its Mock Trial competition on October 24 with Buchanan associates. This biannual event gives them the opportunity to hone their trial advocacy skills in front of a judge, jury and firm colleagues. Congratulations to the plaintiff team led by Amanda Wetzel and her team Joshua Calo, Kyle Roberts and Brandon Trush who secured a verdict for their client. Also, congratulations to the defense team led by Kody Sparks and his team Masiel Pelegrino Almon, Christian Kohlsaat and Eileen Murphy, who mounted a vigorous defense for their client.

Carrie Lewis DelRosso and Milton Koch, C.P.A. joined forces with Jezree Friend of the Manufacturer & Business Association and the Butler County Chamber of Commerce to present “Trade Policy Update: Protecting Production & Profits for Pennsylvania Manufacturers.” The presentation highlighted the latest on trade policy for U.S. producers, including Buchanan’s predictions for post-election trade policies. This presentation was the first of many; stay tuned for our next installment!
