It’s been a busy week for BSA in APAC: 🌏 Jared and Wai San joined our members in Jakarta for productive discussions with Kominfo officials on key policy topics like data protection, AI governance, and Indonesia’s future National Data Center. 🔃 Back in Singapore, Wai San spoke at The Law Society of Singapore’s Cybersecurity and Data Protection Day, where she shared insights from the Global Data Alliance on cross-border data transfers and highlighted real-world challenges of large and small businesses managing these data flows. 💡 In Australia, Shen Hong met with government officials to discuss key regulatory issues, including mandatory AI guardrails, AI and copyright, the Privacy Amendment Bill 2024, and cybersecurity reforms. The meetings once again underscored the need for close collaboration between government and industry to develop effective policies. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with members, partners, and industry peers to shape the future of digital policy in the region!
