The ASID Design Excellence Awards were made even more special by having an entire table full of BDG team members. We had representatives from both our residential and commercial design teams, from our procurement and operations department, and also from our long standing partners LaRue Architects—represented at our table by Mindy Hogan. The evening, hosted by Jim Wilson of Luxe magazine, was a celebration of creativity and innovation in design, and we were honored with seven award wins, selected by our peers in the ASID community. Special shoutouts to ASID Austin and the new president, Adrian Galvan, ASID Texas Chapter, Jim Wilson and Lara Hallock of Luxe Interiors + Design (sponsors of the event), and of course the teams that brought our winning projects to life: LaRue Architects and eleV8 Builders for our Fiore Residence and GFF, High Street Residential, and ANDRES Construction Services for Legacy Square. We look forward to continuing to create spaces that inspire and stand the test of time. Thank you to the ASID DEX Awards for recognizing our work and providing a platform to celebrate the power of design! #ASID #ASIDTX #ASIDDEX #Designexcellenceawards #awards #awardsnight #brittdesigngroup #interiordesignawards #luxemagazine

Last month, Laura Britt, ASID was invited to share her expertise about incorporating art into interior design with an incredible panel of peers at Dallas Design Week. Hosted at Dallas Market Center the group (Billy Fong of PaperCity Magazine Dallas, Ginger Hartford, Sarah Hargrave of The Collective Dallas, and Courtney McGrail) showed how art is an integral part of each project and something that should be considered from day one. Thank you to everyone who attended! Photos by Thanin Viriyaki

In addition to attending Paris Design Week, and getting inspiration from the best of Parisian interiors and shops, Laura, Shaunn, and Hayley concluded their trip with a lovely visit to their clients' new home overlooking the French Riviera. This site visit was just the beginning of our incredible redesign of this spectacular four-story villa. Between meetings to assess the home's current condition and mapping out its future, they were also fortunate to draw further inspiration from the famed coastal city and surrounding areas.

Did you know that following the winter storm in 2021 that wiped out so many Texans' power, Texas Energy Savings Day was established on September 7th each year. The day is designated as a reminder to take a look at your energy bill and consider alternative plans to cut down on cost. And, if you can, take steps to reduce electricity consumption around the home, such as moveable window walls to create an indoor breeze without air conditioning as seen here in our Rocking 8 Ranch. More facts about today: • If Texas were an independent country it would have the 11th largest electricity market on the planet • About 80% of Texans are on variable pricing plans • By switching plans, you can lock in a new fixed rate and avoid fluctuations Rocking 8 Ranch Project Team: Architect: SANDERS ARCHITECTURE Builder: DAVID WILKES BUILDERS, LLC Photographer: Ryann Ford Styling: Adam Fortner
