We congratulate Deputy CIO Blake Cecil for being named one of Business Insider’s 2024 Rising Stars of Wall Street. The honor recognizes leaders of tomorrow making notable contributions and accomplishments in the asset management industry. Today, Blake partners closely with co-CIO Greg Jensen to directly oversee the full breadth of our flagship investment strategy. He is extraordinary in many ways but what makes him stand out the most, and the reason he has elevated so quickly, is his perpetual commitment to challenging the status quo in pursuit of what's true and the best possible answers. Here is a short testament from our community or you can read more about Blake’s recognition: https://lnkd.in/eE8XSwrp

Bridgewater recently hosted the Atlantic Council’s inaugural Millennium Leadership Program Summit, bringing together leaders across government, business, and civil society to discuss the biggest trends impacting economies and markets. Over the past decade—some of our most exceptional rising leaders have participated in the Millennium Leadership Program—and it was special to see them come together alongside fellows from their years, other key members of the Bridgewater community, and distinguished guests for a day focused on problem solving and dialogue. Featured were Bridgewater Co-CIO Karen Karniol-Tambour, Atlantic Council President and CEO Fred Kempe, Former Governor Jon Huntsman, and Spencer Stuart CEO Jordan Brugg, alongside many others. Last week, the Millennium Leadership Program hosted members of our global network and colleagues from the Atlantic Council, Bridgewater Associates, and Spencer Stuart for the inaugural Millennium Leadership Summit at Bridgewater’s campus in Westport, Connecticut. This first grand convening of the Millennium Leadership network since its founding in 2015 served as a remarkable way to launch our tenth Millennium Fellowship cohort. Together, participants addressed a central theme—“Global Leadership in Times of Uncertainty”—by participating in panels, breakout sessions, and hearing from distinguished speakers, including former Governor Jon Huntsman, the CEO of Spencer Stuart, Jordan Brugg, and the Atlatnic Council’s President and CEO, Fred Kempe. Program content was designed and largely implemented by global leaders from Bridgewater and the Millennium Leadership Program. Discussions ranged from what to expect from the upcoming US elections, to how leaders can navigate the impact of AI. We are proud to say that the first Millennium Leadership Summit was a success, and we hope this was the first of many future gatherings. We are hugely grateful to our partners at Bridgewater Associates and to our Fellows who came in from across the globe!

The conversation focuses on key themes including US exceptionalism, artificial intelligence, China’s economy, and more. So grateful for this very generous recognition of my 30-year career in institutional investing! I’m only still here because of the generosity, support, and encouragement of so many people and organizations along the way. Too many to name here but take a look at this year’s honorees and you will see several of them. Just as they have lifted me up, I hope that I have and will continue to do the same for others. Many of my early “lifters” were men, because they were the ones in the position to do so. Today, I’m proud to see so many amazing women leading the charge and “lifting” those who come after us with renewed energy and focus. Today, I’m attending the Pensions & Investments Influential Women in Institutional Investing conference and awards dinner with my colleagues and my daughter, who I hope will be proud to see me on stage! Hope to see many of you there. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ey3ATTiB Toigo Foundation

Ajay Banga, my friend and President of The World Bank, joined me to talk about the research capabilities Bridgewater Associates is contributing to better understanding economic conditions in Sub-Saharan Africa. I first met Ajay a couple of years ago, and our paths have crossed many times since, including when he announced several transformative World Bank initiatives on the Global Citizen stage in Paris. I admire his courage, his commitment to having impact, and the vision to forge innovative partnerships like the one between our organizations. There’s nothing better than meaningful work and meaningful relationships.
