We are thrilled to honor Viola Wheelihan as the Honorary Chair of our 43rd Annual "Ohana" Gala hosted at the beautiful Omni La Costa Resort & Spa on October 12th, 2024! Viola's incredible journey from Ames, Iowa, to Carlsbad has been filled with cultural richness and dedication to our community. Since joining the Boys & Girls Clubs’ Board in 2006, she has been a tireless advocate and volunteer, helping to build the Bressi Ranch Clubhouse and co-chairing our Gala for 15 years. “For me, being involved with the kids at the Club is a labor of love,” Viola says. Her family's deep involvement with the Club highlights her commitment to our mission. “The children are our future. It really has come full circle now; my grandkids play basketball at the Village Clubhouse and attend the Club’s summer camps. In addition, my son, Brandon, sits on the Board of Directors, and my daughter, Darcy, is a member of the Gala Committee.” Join us alongside of the amazing Bonnie Foster to celebrate Viola and support the kids who call the Club their second home! We are thrilled to welcome Timothy Broadhead to our Board of Directors' Executive Committee as our new #Treasurer! Tim, the President and CEO of Indian Motorcycle of San Diego, joined our board in August 2023 and has already made a tremendous impact, donating fantastic auction items for our fundraising events. “I’ve always had a big passion for missions that involve or positively impact youth, so the Club is a perfect fit for me,” said Tim. When he took over Indian Motorcycle in 2018, Tim promised to prioritize the customer experience, and he has certainly delivered – just step into the Clairemont Mesa store and see for yourself! With over 30 years of experience in finance and operations, alongside his expertise in marketing and strategic planning, Tim brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. Before launching Indian Motorcycle of San Diego, Tim held multiple finance and operations executive roles in San Diego and is a former licensed CPA in California. Outside of work, Tim enjoys quality time with his two children, Mason and Melanie. He is also dedicated to various non-profit and for-profit boards, with a particular passion for causes benefiting youth and animals. We are incredibly fortunate to have Tim on our E.C. Team and can't wait to see the positive impact he'll continue to make!

Our first annual pickleball tournament was a smash hit! Making history with over 60 teams at our inaugural fundraiser, we raised over an amazing $18k for the kids of Carlsbad. Thank you to the TENNIS CLUB OF VISTA, INC. for hosting us, and an extra special thank you to our presenting sponsor, B.A. Worthing, Inc. Their commitment to our club and their generous support played a huge role in making our first tournament truly unforgettable. We enjoyed another incredible evening celebrating the shining stars of our club at the Super Star Awards Dinner! From exceptional kids to dedicated parents, athletes, volunteers, and outstanding employees, it was a heartfelt tribute to those who make our clubs and community thrive. I tee'd it up at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad annual golf fundraiser with Tom Burns, Bobby Braun, and Peter Katkov. The event raised over $110,000 to help provide the kids in Carlsbad with safe space to learn and grow. Huge thanks to Pat Maldi for organizing such a fantastic event.
