John Tayer encourages us all to keep calm and carry on, locally, in the face of Tuesday's election. "I’m also very sure that my anxiety — and the deep dark holes I can enter when discussing the election with politically aligned friends — won’t change the outcome. And it certainly isn’t good for my health. Instead, where do I turn when the world outside our direct sphere of influence is too much to handle? To paraphrase a famed British public safety message, keep calm and carry on, locally." 📖 Read more: https://lnkd.in/gqP8daA3

President's Post: Such a well-deserved tribute to a model community leader, Sheriff Joe Pelle - https://lnkd.in/g7Q-vqEk. As I said in my own letter of support for naming the Alternative Sentencing Facility in his honor, "Sheriff Pelle displayed a thoughtful understanding of the values our community expected in its law enforcement strategies. His work to design and successfully campaign for the Alternative Sentencing Facility, and the role that facility will play in achieving positive community security and criminal rehabilitation outcomes, is a tribute to Sheriff Pelle’s leadership character." Thank you to Boulder County Commissioners Claire Levy and Ashley Stoltzman for approving the naming and to Bobby Brown for spearheading this recognition!

President's Post: Limelight Boulder was in the limelight yesterday as our community marked the anticipated opening in just one year of this new highlight edition to our hospitality assets . . . With 250 hotel rooms and a high capacity conference center, the Limelight Boulder will give Boulder the capacity to host business meetings, nonprofit events and research gatherings that previously were beyond our reach. Of course, nothing of this magnitude comes easy, but in the words of Lori Call, University of Colorado Boulder Associate Vice Chancellor for Local Government and Community Relations (and Vice Chair of our Boulder Chamber Board), the fact that we are celebrating this milestone “is a moment of pride, and it shows the power of partnership.” Read more about Limelight Boulder and today's celebration here: https://lnkd.in/gtzcuMEn.
