Incredible work from our friends at Boncom that helped seal the deal to bring the Olympics back to Salt Lake City in 2034!

Let’s Go!   We’re thrilled to share one of the videos that played a pivotal role in helping Salt Lake City, Utah secure the bid for the 2034 Olympics! 🎉🏅   Here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes. Great things happen when you have the right people, a plan, and limited time. That was certainly true of this production. The ski resorts had already closed for the season and the snow was quickly melting. Snowbird Resort opened the tram just for us, and we found a handful of runs with just enough snow to pull it off.   Two weeks before the IOC event, we showed a rough cut to the client with scratch vocals. It was risky given that we only had a week to wrap the video up, but we suggested trying to find an iconic, recognizable voice with ties to Utah. “What about Katherine Heigl? Does anyone have a connection?” We leveraged our network, and within a few days, we were on a call with Katherine and her husband, who happens to own a recording studio. And as they say, the rest is history.   Thank you to the Salt Lake Olympic Committee for their trust and collaboration throughout this journey. And a big thanks to Snowbird, Katherine, and many Olympic venues for being so generous. We couldn’t have done it without you.

It was on July 12, 1994, 30 years ago, that Jason Ross began his journey at then Hot Talk 1140. He was filling in for someone's vacation for 2 weeks, and that turned into a 30 year career here at Sactown Sports. In a message Jason said: " Everyone's path is different, I am grateful that this has been mine. Here's to more, not sure how many, but here's to more. The first 30 was very special. By the way, I hope you had a great vacation Jerry." Please join us in celebrating, but more so in appreciation for Jason and this tremendous milestone. He brings insightful sports content, humor and humility to all he does. He is a balance and force for good on our team and we are deeply thankful to be a part of his journey. #congratson30years #jasonross #sactownsports1140

Marketing @ KSL TV & Bonneville International | Triplet mom, military spouse, aspiring home baker, and creator.

Recently completed a small group course at Bonneville International focused on understanding our own personal biases and how it affects our work. I really appreciated the time and thought from our HR teams and leadership that made something like this for us to focus on. Not only does it show that our company cares about fostering an inclusive environment, but it also reiterates the seriousness of this topic as many of us are working closely to or directly in the news. Not saying anything new here, but of course it is so important in our modern society and especially in our current US and world political climate. (Election years 😅, amiright?) One key concept that stood out to me across this course was this blueprint of creating connections. If we really, truly want to be in a place to connect with people--listeners, viewers, clients, colleagues, our own personal circles--we have to lead with an open mind. And the combination of curiosity and empathy is really the sweet spot. We ALL have biases, conscious and unconscious, and taking time to look inward is so crucial and is essential to any journalist or news organization and really any human being. While I'm not on the front lines reporting or producing stories, one of my primary motives in any work I've done is to connect with others and within my community--it gives me hope and it gives me drive. And, we kinda need each other, don't you think?

From the moment she stepped onto the stage at age 8, Cody Robinson knew she was destined to perform. Initially dreaming of an acting career, she discovered her true calling in broadcast journalism and pursued her passion at Penn State. With dreams as big as her personality, Cody took a leap of faith and made the bold move from Philadelphia to Sacramento to turn her radio dreams into reality. This vibrant Midtowner now proudly calls the “City of Trees” home, embracing its warm community and thriving opportunities. Cody’s journey in Sacramento began as the midday host on NOW 100.5, where she captivated listeners for three years. She then made the switch to mornings on 105.1 KNCI, joining forces with the legendary duo Pat & Tom, and bringing her infectious energy to the Pat, Tom & Cody Show - Every weekday from 5am-10am. Today, we are thrilled to celebrate Cody's incredible achievement as she receives the prestigious Gracie Award. This honor highlights her exceptional talent and impact in the broadcasting industry. Congratulations, Cody! You inspire us all.
