The B.L.U.E. House

I’ve had several requests to hear more about my trafficking experience. I have decided to host a virtual event where I will be sharing my story, discussing vulnerabilities that increased my risk, and I will briefly discuss my plans for The B.L.U.E. House . The B.L.U.E. House’s first event was a success! Many (amazing!) frybread tacos were eaten, food was given to those who couldn’t afford tacos, we had fun games, a dance competition, raffle, and bouncy house. Did I fail to mention that the Minneapolis Fire Dept showed up for us!?! I think that was my favorite part of the day. Thank you to everyone who donated their money, time, and energy toward making this event a success. We received so much positive feedback from those who live in the neighborhood, which means everything. I forgot to take photos in the rush of everything, so thank you to those who sent me the ones that they were able to take! 💙💙💙

Only one day left until our first event! We will have frybread tacos and raffle tickets for sale to support the organization and we will also be offering numerous free games and activities for kids including a BOUNCY HOUSE! Where: 3601 N. House's first-ever event: "Northside Trunk-or-Treat" being held on Sunday, October 27th! 🎃 Join us as we hand out treats and introduce our new organization to the community where our future drop-in center will be located. This is a fun, family-friendly event, and costumes are highly encouraged! 👻✨ Raffle tickets will be available for purchase, featuring some amazing prizes! Plus, don't miss out on our delicious fry bread tacos, available starting at 12 PM until they’re gone. Proceeds from both the raffle and taco sales will directly support the start-up costs for The B.L.U.E. House. Interested in being a part of this event? I apologize for how quiet our social media has been lately, but we are still working hard behind the scenes on building the organization. Today we received these promotional items that we designed for future tabling events, and we love how they turned out!

Today we stand in appreciation of all of the people who came before us in the anti-trafficking movement who paved a way for this organization to even exist. The work you have done matters and we see you. 💙

On April 22nd of this year, The B.L.U.E. House filed as a non profit in the state of Minnesota. Since that time, we have been working tirelessly to build the framework for the organization. One big piece that we have been working on is our 501c3 application documentation, which is now being reviewed by a law student and will be ready for a final approval tonight at our board meeting! Other accomplishments include assembling a diverse and dedicated Board of Directors, the creation of policy and procedure, and a website that should be completed by the end of the week. In addition, our Executive Director, Nyki McNamee, has been asked to speak at the International Human Trafficking & Social Justice Conference and was recently accepted into the Nasdaq Milestones Circles program for women entrepreneurs! More than anything else, we are grateful for the relationships that have been built with local individuals and organizations. We know that community means everything, and we appreciate the love and support that has been sent our way. We can’t wait to see what the next three months brings, and we are so happy that you are all along for this ride with us. 💙💙💙

Hello! I know that the page has been quiet lately, but we have been very busy in the background and have made some significant progress on getting The B.L.U.E. House closer to our goals! We now have an amazing Board of Directors that has been meeting regularly to help establish our goals and priorities. Our Board of Directors consisits of professionals with vast experience across multiple fields, and The B.L.U.E. House is so grateful for the ways that they have already been able to contribute to the cause. While we do not have a physical location at this time, we will be working to establish outreach efforts in the community while we raise the funds needed to create the drop-in center that we have been dreaming of. We recently created a Venmo account for the business, and are encouraging anyone who is willing to donate to use the QR code in the image below to find us. Every donation, despite the size, gets us closer to our goal of providing comprehensive services to adult survivors of sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, and those at risk within the seven-county metro area of Minnesota. Another exciting update is that we have completed our application for 501c3 status, and once it has been reviewed, it will be ready to submit!
