Your smile can change someone’s day. Yesterday I was sitting at a coffee shop out here in Allen, Texas, minding my own business, making calls, responding to emails, and editing content. In one of the shared office spaces next to me, I noticed a really cool interview set up with all sorts of fancy lights and cameras which drew my attention. Since I was literally in the middle of editing content from my latest Streetwise Podcast interview, I couldn’t help but wonder who was being interviewed and if I would ever be able to work with such a professional team for my platform. As I was daydreaming, I made eye contact with a woman as she was walking by my table. She was maybe late 50’s. I smiled at her and she gave me the nicest smile back. She walked passed my table and I went back to work. About 45 minutes later I looked up from my laptop to notice that it was THIS woman who was getting interviewed as she was holding a book! She must be an author, I thought… that’s cool… back to work I go… After another 30 minutes or so I look up and see the same woman walking away from the set and heading straight to my table. She leans over and thanks me profusely… For my smile. 😃 She happened to be VERY nervous before her interview but me smiling at her completely eased her mind, and her spirit, which gave her confidence. You never know what someone is going through. Even the people you knowingly or unknowingly are looking up to have insecurities. Being your authentic self can break barriers and change the course of someone’s life. Start simple. Smile at someone today 😊 #stayStreetwise

I wish the vulnerability that is required in asking for help was seen as a personality strength vs a weakness. I know we see that struggle with our franchise owners at Bloomin' Blinds but I think it’s prevalent in our society in general.
