India’s credit market is rapidly expanding as the country looks to become the world’s next economic growth engine. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s infrastructure plans are fueling a borrowing binge, with the local corporate bond market set to more than double to the equivalent of about $1.5 trillion by 2030. Private credit is playing an increasingly key role. And the nation’s sovereign bonds are being included in more global indexes. To provide insight into what lies ahead, Bloomberg brings you the inaugural India Credit Forum featuring Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das, Sebi Member Ananth Narayan and credit industry leaders. We need to talk about racial equality in London's financial sector. The City of London made promises: Businesses would address racial disparities, hire a more representative workforce and tackle the ethnicity pay gap. But what's the state of play four years on? Tiwa Adebayo spoke to Black professionals across the City who tell her that they've seen a steady drop in commitment. Black History Month events went from large-scale affairs to ones with a few speakers. They've noticed that the headcount in the DEI department is suddenly slashed. And on a personal level, they're often made to feel like a token, rather than part of an inclusive and meritocratic culture. What's particularly interesting is the difference between the DEI rollback in the US, which is credited to conservative activists, and what's happening in the UK, where businesses tend to go out of their way to talk about their plans for racial equality.
