mobilizing people and resources to reach the unreached

About us

We exist to protect vulnerable children, fight human trafficking, mobilize cross-cultural workers, advance the Gospel and supply life sustaining resources globally. From our beginning, BLESS has prioritized a part of the world nicknamed the "10/40 Window" (a term used to describe the region of the world within 10 and 40 degrees latitude from Western Africa to Eastern Asia). These 65 countries represent the majority of humanitarian crises and people groups that have not yet heard the Gospel.

September UPG Spotlight: Praying for the Sagso People Bible Translation Milestone: Pray for our team as they start teaching the Bible for the first time in the Sagso language. May God grant them wisdom and clarity as they bring His Word to life in this new context. Agriculture Business: Pray that our agriculture business finds customers and becomes a strong access ministry for the Sagso team. We hope this initiative will provide both practical support and open doors for further outreach. Spiritual Hunger: Pray for the Holy Spirit to stir a deep hunger for God’s Word among the Sagso people. May their hearts be open and receptive to His message of love and salvation. Thank you for standing with us in prayer. Your support makes a difference!

September UPG Spotlight: Reaching the Sagso People The Sagso people, a rich and complex community formed from ancient kingdoms, have a history that intertwines with both Islamic and animistic traditions. Despite Portuguese colonial efforts in the 15th and 16th centuries, the Sagso were influenced more by nearby Islamic kingdoms, leading to a predominantly Muslim identity intertwined with traditional practices. Their unique practice of Islam, often referred to as “folk Islam,” blends their deep Islamic beliefs with ancient animistic rituals. While they follow the Quran, many Sagso people can't read Arabic and continue to honor traditional ceremonies, such as offering sacrifices to spirits, as part of their spiritual life. Join us in praying for the Sagso people: Pray for the spread of the Gospel within their community. Pray that they may encounter the transformative power of Christ, beyond the rituals and traditions. Pray for missionaries and local believers to effectively share the love and truth of Jesus with the Sagso. Together, let’s seek to bridge cultures and bring the hope of Christ to every corner of the world!

Meet the Sagso People: A Vibrant Community with a Rich Heritage We're excited to spotlight one of the largest and most fascinating people groups in the area: the Sagso! Their lives are deeply rooted in agrarian activities, from farming and raising livestock to fishing and trading along the coast. The Sagso diet is a celebration of their land, featuring rice dishes, rice cakes, and delicious rice dumplings. And let's not forget their delectable banana-based desserts that are a true staple of their culinary tradition. But their culture doesn't stop at food. The Sagso are also renowned for their traditional handicrafts. Their hand-forged blades are not just tools but works of art. Their unique tapestries and textiles showcase their rich heritage and craftsmanship. The Sagso are at stage 4, meaning the Mission Workers working among them have completed learning the national language and studying the Sagso culture and have begun the translation of Scripture and Biblical narrative lessons.

To translate the Bible into their language and plant a thriving, healthy church among them. This is a significant and transformative journey, and we invite you to stand with us in prayer and support. Let’s unite in faith, hoping to bring hope and the love of Christ to the Sagso people.

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” Revelation 7:9-12

Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:19-20
