This past weekend, black girls breathing® hosted our sanctuary - a black girls breathing® breathwork experience events in Chicago and Detroit! Our first time in the midwest, we've had a budding presence in both cities in our online community but our hypothesis of the demand for our work out there were both confirmed with the demand of two sold out sessions. As we exceeded our 40+ participant cap, we'll be back with 100+ capacities moving forward! We're also so excited to launch our breathwork training program in March 2025 where now that demand is confirmed, we'll have black girls breathing® breathwork facilitators leading sessions in these market cities (along with our other market cities in North America). #blackgirlsbreathing #blackwomensmentalhealth #blackwomenshealthcare #healthequity

Today, we plan to hit our 60,000 impact milestone 🎉 🎉 In December 2022, we launched our #takethepledge campaign to further activate our 1 Million by 2025 plan. The insight for this campaign was straightforward: We know the demographic we serve faces many stigmas when it comes to mental health. How can we encourage small actions, that with education and culturally competent resources, add up to long-term habits? Each Black woman whose taken the pledge gets our free mental health toolkit complete with various resources (breathwork video and audio meditations, journal prompts with themes addressing unique mental health challenges, and other non-mental health related resources). After building trust and encouragement to be consistent with a practice with our actionable mental health content, they are added to our larger community where they have access to more free resources and support. Those experiencing financial strain also become eligible for scholarships to our subscription community.
