Introducing Emily Lout, one of Bioversity’s newest students! 🔬 Tell us about yourself - what were you doing before Bioversity, your family, where you're from, and anything else you want to share. Before Bioversity, I was in school at UMass Boston studying biology. I was also working in the veterinary field. My parents are from Cambodia, which is located in Southeast Asia. My siblings and I were all born and raised here in Boston. I am the youngest of five siblings. Why did you choose Bioversity? What specific goals or aspirations do you hope to achieve through your participation? I chose Bioversity because when I saw the program on LinkedIn, I was immediately drawn to it, and I felt like this was going to be such a great opportunity for me. I really wanted to get into the biotech industry, but I was struggling to find a job/internship in the biotech field with no experience and an unfinished degree. I hope from participating in Bioversity, I can achieve a successful career in the biotech field with unforgettable memories and connections. Life science employers: our fourth cohort graduates on August 29! We encourage you to consider welcoming these graduates on your team. Our program vets all students and then helps them develop cutting-edge skills from Bioversity to enrich your organization. While this cohort is still in progress, check out some of our recent graduates: https://lnkd.in/egMrzRcV Zach Stanley Ross Marshall

Introducing Alexander Liriano, one of Bioversity’s newest students! 🔬 Tell us about yourself - what were you doing before Bioversity, your family, where you're from, and anything else you want to share. Before Bioversity I was working as a front desk agent for Massage Envy. My background is Puerto Rican and Dominican, but I was born and raised in Boston. I grew up surrounded by sports, and played them all my life, primarily baseball and basketball. Why did you choose Bioversity? What specific goals or aspirations do you hope to achieve through your participation? I was informed on what a great career path program Bioversity offers, as well as how helpful they are. My interest with lab work started in high school, but I never thought it was something I could actually do. I’m very impressed with how much thought and dedication they put into seeing you succeed, and I really like that. What I hope to achieve from this course is potentially getting into a biotech career and having a valuable occupation where I can be proud. Introducing Jessica Daniels, one of Bioversity’s newest students! 🔬 Tell us about yourself - what were you doing before Bioversity, your family, where you're from, and anything else you want to share. Before Bioversity I was working at a daycare and at a group home. Hopefully, after this career change I will only have to work one job, so I can spend more time with my kids. How do you believe your past experiences have prepared you for success in this workforce development program? I've worked in different environments with a lot of different kinds of people. I've picked up a variety of ways to do things, and learned how to be around different personality types Life science employers: our fourth cohort graduates on August 29! Introducing Danaysha Thompson, one of Bioversity’s newest students! 🔬 Tell us about yourself - what were you doing before Bioversity, your family, where you're from, and anything else you want to share. Before Bioversity, I studied art at UMass Boston, but I was no longer able to continue my studies due to financial hardships. I went on to work full-time at Flour Bakery. My family works full-time to support my sister while she is away at college. Both my family and I were born and raised here in Massachusetts. Before my major change, I initially wanted to study biology, however, there weren't any career paths that grasped my attention at the time. Why did you choose Bioversity? What specific goals or aspirations do you hope to achieve through your participation? I chose Bioversity because this seemed like the perfect opportunity to rekindle my interest in biology. This program broadens the choices of work for me. Aside from working within the biotech field, I believe that the program will help me with certain aspects within the hiring process. Introducing Prepy JEAN, one of Bioversity’s newest students! 🔬 Tell us about yourself - what were you doing before Bioversity, your family, where you're from, and anything else you want to share. Before joining Bioversity, I studied paramedics in Ecuador and then returned to Haiti to work. I spent seven years as the head of training at the National Ambulance Center (CAN) in Haiti. Last year, I took the opportunity to explore new horizons in the United States, and began working as an unarmed security guard in Boston. Born and raised in Haiti, I grew up in a loving family with two sisters and a brother. Despite my father's passing at a young age, my single mother encouraged my passion for science and learning. Outside of work, I enjoy playing basketball, walking outdoors, and reading. Now, I'm excited to be part of the Bioversity program, where my goal is to contribute my skills, graduate, and secure a job in a great company. My ultimate goal is to continue studying Biotechnology, a field I'm deeply passionate about. Why did you choose Bioversity? What specific goals or aspirations do you hope to achieve through your participation? I chose Bioversity for its renowned program in biotechnology, which aligns with my career aspirations. Through Bioversity, I hope to gain advanced knowledge and skills in biotechnology research and development, and network with professionals in the field. My goal is to contribute to solutions in health and sustainable development, and I believe that with Bioversity I will have the possibility of achieving this.
