On Wednesday, November 6, the Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science (ICTAS) at Virginia Tech will host scientist and entrepreneur Raven Baxter, for the Hugh and Ethel Kelly Lecture series presented in partnership with the College of Engineering. In this talk, Dr. Baxter will offer a solution to misinformation: science communication. As a molecular biologist and science educator, Dr. Raven aims to simplify science through engaging educational content. With degrees in Molecular Biology and a PhD. in Science Education and 15+ years in science education and communications, she makes complex scientific theories relatable. Raven brings expertise in high-throughput drug discovery and consults with science companies to enhance communication. The discussion will take place from 2-2:45 p.m. in Haymarket Theatre at Squires Student Center followed by a 30-minute Q&A and a 30-minute meet & greet. This event is open to the public.
