Our consulting and professional learning team, Big Thought Institute, recently collaborated with Knomadix and Desoto ISD to implement an AI-integrated learning environment across the school district. To support the integration, Big Thought Institute focused on cultivating a positive culture and strengthening instructional practices. We're excited to be a part of this work – thank you to Getting Smart for lifting it up!
What would it look like to fully integrate AI into a learning environment? In a new Getting Smart Blog, Mason Pashia shares how DESOTO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT is pioneering this vision with a district-wide AI operating system. Partnering with Knomadix and Big Thought Institute, DeSoto ISD is leveraging AI to accelerate learning and bridge academic gaps, offering personalized, engaging, and real-time adaptive learning experiences. “This approach enhances educational delivery while equipping students with the skills necessary for future success,” said Dr. Usamah Rodgers, DeSoto ISD's superintendent. Knomadix's AI platform provides tailored support and instant feedback, creating a dynamic toolkit for personalized education. Initial feedback from students and teachers has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting improved engagement and understanding. With its content-agnostic framework, Knomadix offers seamless integration across subjects, empowering educators to design multi-modal AI-driven lessons. Each summer is a reminder that learning happens everywhere – learning that is driven by youth's interests and passions and connects them to new and inspiring parts of their community. Our CEO, Byron K. Sanders, and President Emeritus and Founder of Education Reimagined, Kelly Young, recently shared how out of school time experiences foster real, contextualized learning for youth. By leaning into community-based, learner-centered ecosystems, the future of education can be active, engaging, and open up new possibilities for youth. Our CEO Byron K. Sanders is one of the voices featured in the recent documentary series, Black CEOs, In Their Own Words. Made in collaboration with the George and Fay Young Foundation and produced by Universe Creative, the series tells the story of Black CEOs from childhood through present day, detailing the struggles and successes that empower them to lead with authenticity and purpose. Byron recently engaged in a special screening and panel discussion presented by Koya Partners | Diversified Search Group, where he shared about his experience and perspective. It's stories like these – stories of resilience and finding your best path – that encourage our communities and inspire our youth.
