The hot wound spring production process begins with a Betts Team Member selecting high-grade steel, which is then heated to 1600°F-1800°F to soften it for coiling.* The heated steel is then wound around a mandrel to form the desired shape. Rigorous testing ensures quality and specific end finishes are available.
