#BentonFoundry was recently honored by being one of eight manufacturers that received a 2024 MAEA Award (Manufacturers and Employers Award) that demonstrated excellence in 2023. We were honored for the measures we took during our recent expansion to mitigate potential negative effects on our local environment, neighboring natural waters, and habitats, as well as maximizing efforts toward beneficially affecting them. This included our installation of 1.6 acres of engineered wetlands in a High-Quality Watershed. We take pride in our commitment to environmental initiatives to ensure eco-friendly casting operations, and we are honored to receive this recognition. #BentonFoundry's Spring Highway Cleanup Project - The Pennsylvania Adopt-AHighway program currently has 4,284 volunteers covering 9,293 miles (an average of 2.2 miles per volunteer organization). We cover the area of Route 487 from Camp Lavigne Road to PA-118, which is 4.2 miles and is technically 8 parcels (or segments) of adoptable highway. Our official zone is smaller than this, but we use these two points. We coordinated our efforts with the local Penn-DOT office in Bloomsburg. This year, we collected 29 bags of trash, miscellaneous debris like tires, plumbing, automotive body panels, a bit of furniture, and a pallet. #HighwayCleanup #AdoptAHighwayCleanUp

What is a Foundry Worker? Ask a foundry worker what they do, and they might humbly say that they “melt metal and pour it into a mold to make a casting”… More eloquently stated: “I am feeding and clothing the people of the world. I am purifying and transporting the water that you drink. I am digging the world’s coal and drilling its oil. I am building thousands of miles of highways and railroads and the locomotives, trucks, and automobiles that travel over them. I make the airplanes that fly through the air and the ships that sail the seven seas...It is no wonder that – “I am proud to be a foundry worker!” Read the entire article here: https://buff.ly/4b0ehop #ferrousfoundry

#BentonFoundry History Part 5: The Hall Family Enters The Iron Industry Arena - By 1958, Hallstead Foundry had gained an enviable reputation for delivering high-quality castings to their customers in a timely and efficient manner. The demand became such that other avenues had to be pursued in order to fulfill customers' needs. Both Mr. Hall and Mr. Kime knew that the business needed to expand and discussed buying another foundry. They looked for a foundry that was relatively close in location for control purposes and one that could handle the work overflow as business increased. The Inception of the Boss Buddy - Back in 2002, #BentonFoundry presented a unique problem that needed to be solved. Little did they know that in 2014 Laurie Barcaskey would pull out those very same prints for their custom solution and develop that into the product that is today’s Boss Buddy. The inception of the Boss Buddy stemmed from a need to overcome the challenges that Benton had experienced, and dictated introducing a new method that utilizes a female urethane mating piece instead of both dies. This innovative approach not only reduced material waste but also ensured a more consistent quality of embossed characters on metal tapes, such as the foil or stainless tapes available for use with today's Boss Buddy.
