Last week, I attended the Reuters Pharma Customer Engagement conference in Philly, where I got the chance to reconnect with dozens of long-time friends and meet new connections in pharma and biotech. At the Beghou Consulting booth, we played a game with event-goers to discuss and rank their top customer engagement challenges. Attendees’ top challenges were pretty close but ranked in this order: 1️⃣ Reaching the right customers—in the right ways 2️⃣ Making AI “work” for your company 3️⃣ Keeping your data up to speed with market changes 4️⃣ Future-proofing your field force Digging deeper into the top challenge, attendees also cited rep affinity and the importance of tailoring communication and support for internal rep “customers” based on their personal preferences and behavior. Overlooking reps in the “reaching the right customers, in the right ways” equation has plagued countless launches and programs. The Reuters event also reminded us that, while changing market dynamics and technology are making it hard to keep up, no company is alone in facing these challenges.
