Become A Dietitian

Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce myself for those who are new… My name is Nicole Kuperus and I am a registered dietitian. I became interested in studying dietetics after reading a book called “Smart Exercise”. I completed my undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Food Science w/ a concentration in Dietetics at a school in New Jersey called Montclair State University. In school, I became interested in studying community and public health nutrition and the impact that could be made on a larger population. Then I got my masters of science degree w/ a Community and Public Health concentration and completed my dietetic internship (a combined MS/DI program) at Saint Elizabeth University in New Jersey. Currently, I am working as a school dietitian for a Food Service Company. Work lesson from a session on leadership… • As RD’s in food service we can have a huge impact on the customers we serve whether that be children, seniors or anyone in between. • Always remember to have an attitude of gratitude. • When we are grateful for our jobs, coworkers, boss, and the work that we’re doing our attitudes towards those we are serving will be more positive and loving. • In turn we will live more satisfied lives that are filled with so much love for those around us. #begrateful #begratefuleveryday #begratefulalways #begratefulforwhatyouhave #attitudeofgratitude #foodservice

😃 I am beyond grateful for everyone in my life who has supported me in any way to help me get to where I am today. 3️⃣ months ago I officially passed my licensure exam to become a RDN 1️⃣ month ago I officially started my first job as an RD 🎉 It feels a little surreal that I finally passed the exam after all of the blood, sweat, and tears I poured into becoming a dietitian.
