Be Strong Families partners to develop transformative conversations that nurture the spirit of family, promote well-being, and prevent violence. Our story began in 2012 when a small group of us decided to form a national organization of parents who wanted to strengthen families and communities from the inside out. Now we are a network of change agents growing stronger by forming dialogues that promote vitality, healing, justice, and peace.

We’re honored to be part of the State of New Jersey’s effort to uplift community voices and enhance parent engagement through its nationally renowned prevention programs. This initiative will train and certify 16 local trainers to embed Parent Cafés within the New Jersey Department of Children and Families Family Success Centers across every county, as well as within Statewide Student Support Services, County Councils for Young Children, Community Alignment Specialists, and SPAN Parent Advocacy Network. Parent Cafés build community, develop leadership, provide peer support, reduce parental stress and social isolation, and strengthen families’ ability to protect their children.
