The community of Newtok may be among the first climate refugees, but they won't be the last. It's been our honor to help create a new community as part of this relocation effort. #designalaska #alaskaarchitecture #northerndesign #arcticdesign #climatechange #architecturejobs https://lnkd.in/g4Ta2TVF

Alaska summer means the BDS team is out visiting job locations across the State. From Utqiagvik, where Victor Valenote, AIA, LEED AP, A4LE was visiting the community, to Nome for a building assessment where Jennifer Midthun joined our team at RSA Engineering and Ellen Hamel, P.E. with Reid Middleton, down to Valdez where Bryce Hamels, AIA, NCARB, RRO decided the drive would be beautiful this time of year, and boy was he right! Alaska is such an amazing place to live and work. #Alaska #Design #Architecture #Architects #Hiring #AlaskaLife #Anchorage

Bryce Hamels, AIA, NCARB, RRO visited the village of Newtok where the Ningliq River continues to encroach upon the village. This arial image shows just how close the school (the blue roof) is to the shoreline. Residents are relocating to Mertarvik, where Bryce checked on the progress of the pile installation in preparation for the community's new school. #AlaskaArchitect #Design #ArcticDesign #Architecture #Alaska

It's been great to see the updates so far, the future is bright in Anchorage. #alaskalife #design #community #CommunityDevelopment
The ACDA is offering low-interest loans that can be a catalyst for revitalizing business districts and enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of an area. The loan amount was recently updated to $100,000 which could potentially empower more business and property owners to undertake significant renovations or improvements. It's a great way to foster economic growth and community development. Read on about the program in the April 2024 edition of Alaska Business Monthly. https://lnkd.in/gB_2zCZf #BuildingOurCitysFuture #GreatStreetsRevitalization #SmallBusinessSupport #CommunityDevelopment #EconomicGrowth
