In a Q&A with BRAC, 2019 Large Business winner Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana (BCBSLA) shared some insight on better embracing diversity in the business world. If you want to integrate more robust D&I practices in your organization, setting an example from the top goes a long way. "Develop a business case that clearly communicates why diversity and inclusion are important to the long-term success of your business. The leaders of the organization must be held to the same standards as all other employees," noted Roderic Teamer, director of Diversity Programs and Business Development at BCBSLA. "For example, if training is mandatory for all employees, leaders must also participate. Finally, commit to a long-term strategy.
