It’s that time of year when we start planning for one of our favorite events—our Annual B Local SD Tree Planting Event & BBQ, in partnership with Civilian. 🌳 The Tree Planting Event is a beautification project at Flynn Springs County Park. It helps advance our efforts to engage with the B Local SD community and offsets our agency’s carbon footprint by reforesting. Afterward, we’ll celebrate our hard work with a BBQ and refreshments. On Wednesday, we co-hosted a group of local SD B Keepers with Classy, as Ryan Honeyman from LIFT Economy led a question-and-answer session about the V7 B Corp certification updates. If you're not sure what a B Keeper is, they are our local champions who work closely on the B Corp certification and advocate for the B Corp movement within your company. We'll be hosting more B Keeper events in the future, so please reach out to us if you'd like to be included in our next event.

This date has advanced by five months over the past 60 years, and now, we would need 1.75 Earths to sustain humanity's current consumption rates. By moving away from economic principles that promote greed, wealth inequality, and ecological collapse, the #BCorpMovement is working towards a future where businesses regenerate rather than deplete our planet’s resources. As the climate crisis intensifies, it is crucial to accelerate our efforts to #MoveTheDate of Earth Overshoot Day. We must shift from incremental improvements to substantial, impactful actions. Last Friday, we gathered for our Mid-Year Board Retreat at Flock Freight’s Encinitas HQ to refine our vision and goals for the future. Exciting opportunities and events are on the horizon! During the day, we enjoyed an insightful tour given by Garrison Goode and Kassidy Jones at Dr. Bronner's. We learned about the company’s remarkable history and innovative approach, which left us feeling inspired and energized. Dr. Bronner’s, with the highest B Corp score ever awarded (206.7 out of 200!), truly exemplifies making a positive impact through their Cosmic Principles and in all they do.
