📢 Last week, AXA Commercial hosted the AXA Broker Summit at the picturesque Chateau le Grand Mello. We were excited to bring together 40 senior brokers from our Strategic Partners for two days of insightful sessions and collaborative discussions. 🎤 We kicked off with an update from Jon Walker on AXA Commercial's strategy and market conditions, followed by interactive breakout sessions focusing on key industry topics. Daphné le Conte des Floris shared the main findings from the newly released AXA Future Risks Report, while Ian Rush from Liverpool FC joined for an insightful and entertaining Q&A session. Day two featured a fantastic session on Data & AI in the industry by James Polyblank and Ramzi Elias from McKinsey & Co, and an engaging session on cyber resilience by Martin Smith MBE FSyI from SASIG. 🙌 We also want to extend a big thank you to everyone who generously donated to Alzheimer’s Research UK, helping us raise over £4,300 for this fantastic cause. 🗣️ Alasdair Stewart, Marketing and Broker Development Director, expressed, “This was the 3rd AXA Broker Summit and I think the most successful yet. The 11th edition of AXA’s Future Risks Report, based on the insights of 3,000 experts and 20,000 respondents from the general population, reveals the top global risks that will shape our future. The key findings for the UK are: 🌱 Climate change remains the No. 1 risk, underlining the urgent need for global action. 🌐 Geopolitical instability ranks second, as tensions and conflicts disrupt the global landscape. 🛡️ Cybersecurity threats come third, as digital vulnerabilities and attacks multiply. 📣 Social tensions and movement fuelling misinformation are a close fourth. The report also reflects a continued recognition of the role of insurance in helping businesses and societies to address evolving risks. 91% of experts and 72% of the general public agreeing that insurers’ role in safeguarding against emerging risks will be crucial in future. 🤖 We hosted our first dedicated Manufacturing event at the MTC - Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry for our commercial brokers! As the sector transitions to net zero, it’s exciting to see 62% of UK manufacturers setting ESG targets, the increased focus on sustainability and greener practices in their operations and supply chains. Our seminar, “Insuring Sustainability,” focused on the evolving risks in manufacturing across Property and Casualty to Fleet Management, and addressed emerging challenges like sustainable energy, green buildings, to global supply chain risks. We were also thrilled to have Noelene McKenna from AXA XL share her expertise and insights on environmental impairment liability (EIL) policies, highlighting how they can support manufacturers in their environmental management efforts and demonstrate commitment to protecting our natural resources.
