🗣️ Talking about your experience and goals isn't easy, but it’s a powerful step toward a career. At Atlanta Mission’s Next Steps program, we equip our clients with the skills and confidence to make that step count. Yesterday, Brittany from Georgia Power Company joined us for a Speed Interview session, where she asked clients to share about themselves, the roles they’re interested in, and even their hobbies. "It was a really great opportunity," she shared. "People were from all different backgrounds, and they were so self-motivated and driven—they’ve clearly gained a lot from the Next Steps program." With each interview, our clients continue to grow, becoming stronger, more resilient, and ready for their next chapter. We’re grateful to Brittany and Georgia Power Company for the opportunity to practice #NextSteps #AtlantaMission #Empowerment

Decided to declutter and donate some items to a local nonprofit Atlanta Mission The seasons are changing, the holidays are coming up and we are also entering a new moon so why not get rid of things that no longer serve you or bring you joy and bless someone else with them instead?? If this video came across your feed, I am challenging you to go through your closet and find 5 to 10 items that you can donate to someone in need! And of course, Be sure to pray over them or set an intention before letting them go. 🦋🪴🫶🏽 Side note I had to change the speed of the video to make it fit 90 sec hence the voice change 😭 #donate #atlantamission #energy #declutter #blessings #atl #hope #nonprofit #giveback

What would you do if you lost your job tomorrow or faced a medical emergency you couldn’t afford? For many, that’s how homelessness begins. It’s not just something that happens to "other" people—it can happen to any of us. Over the last 85 years, we’ve learned that homelessness isn’t about one single factor. It’s a web of challenges: a sudden loss of income, mental health issues, family breakdown, or simply the high cost of housing. The reality is, the person you see on the street with a cardboard sign may not be so different from you or me. They’ve faced setbacks that any of us could encounter. The only difference could be a healthy relationship with other people. Check out the video below to hear their stories. You’ll see how much we all share in common and how quickly circumstances can change. Here's what you can do: ✅ See: Start by seeing the people behind the cardboard signs. Empathy is the first step in restoring dignity to those facing one of the hardest times in their lives. It can be as simple as offering a smile or starting a conversation—showing them they matter. ✅ Learn: Take the time to understand the deeper issues around homelessness. Many individuals are stuck in cycles they can’t easily escape. Educating yourself about these struggles and learning what you can do to help in your local community is a critical step. ✅ Listen: Listen to the stories of those with lived experience. These stories are a window into the lives of our neighbors, helping us see them as part of our community. Listening fosters understanding and breaks down stereotypes. ✅ Engage: Action is needed. Get involved in your community—volunteer, donate, or rally your network to support efforts addressing homelessness. The closer we engage, the more we can create change for those experiencing homelessness. Every act of empathy, learning, listening, and engagement brings us closer to real change. The more we repeat these steps, the stronger and more compassionate our communities become. We were honored to have Atlanta Hawks' David Roddy at The Shepherd's Inn last Friday! David stepped up in a big way, donating two giant boxes of shoes and several bags of clothing for those in need. He didn’t stop there—he also took time to serve lunch, making a direct impact on our community. We're excited to have him as part of the Atlanta family and appreciate his dedication to giving back. Welcome to Atlanta, David! #CommunityImpact #AtlantaHawks #LeadershipInAction #GivingBack
