If you’re a current college student in Georgia and passionate about spreading Atlanta Track Club’s mission at your university, you still have time to apply for the 2024-2025 Atlanta Track Club College Ambassador program! Here’s what current College Ambassador Lucie Xu has to say about the program: “I’ve had the best time being a college ambassador this past year. Atlanta Track Club’s community is so welcoming to runners of all levels, so it’s been a great experience to represent the club at my university. Being an ambassador not only allows you to connect to your own university’s community but also to other runners from all over Atlanta. I’ve met some of my best friends through being an ambassador at the Beltline Run Club, Atlanta Track Club races, and volunteer events. It has been a blast to be involved in such a great organization. It’s made me love running even more than before, and gives me the chance to spread that love with my community.” Apply to be a College Ambassador by August 31 at https://lnkd.in/dvk3fD8p

How it started ➡️ All-Metro Track & Field How it’s going ➡️ 2024 Summer Olympics Did you know that four track & field athletes currently representing Team USA in Paris were once All-Metro Track & Field athletes here at Atlanta Track Club? Here are the Atlanta natives and All-Metro athletes competing and earning medals at the Olympics this summer: ⭐ Daniel Roberts - 2015 All-Metro athlete and Hampton High School graduate. Just yesterday, he earned a silver medal in the 110m Hurdles! ⭐ Jasmine Jones - 2018 All-Metro athlete and Greater Atlanta Christian School graduate. In Paris, she placed 4th in the 400m Hurdles finals behind Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Anna Cockrell, and Femke Bol. ⭐ Christian Coleman - 2014 All-Metro athlete and Track Athlete of the Year, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School graduate. Coleman was part of the US men's 4x100m Relay team at this summer's Olympics. ⭐ Daniel Haugh - 2014 All-Metro athlete, St. Pius X graduate. Haugh recently competed in Paris in the men’s hammer throw. When these athletes were in high school, they were honored at the All-Metro Track & Field banquet, a long-standing award ceremony held by Atlanta Track Club to honor the top track & field athletes in the Atlanta-metro area that season. It’s truly an honor to reward these athletes early-on in their careers and watch them grow to represent our country at the Olympics! We are so excited to see how many more All-Metro athletes will continue representing Atlanta and the US at future Olympic Games. 📸 Kevin Morris

Last Thursday, we successfully hosted the 55th Running of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race. This event exemplifies all of Atlanta Track Club's core values - community, camaraderie, and competition - in the best possible ways. In the midst of the Club's busiest season, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution covered a glimpse of what it looks like behind the scenes as we prepare for the world's largest 10K. They also covered many changes we introduced to this year's race, such as the Elite High School division. Check out their coverage at https://lnkd.in/gStAPKHe

You can help us build the next generation of runners and walkers by signing up to be a site lead/head coach for the Fall 2024 Kilometer Kids season, and there’s no experience necessary! We will provide you with daily practice plans, an orientation and lots of mentoring and support. Learn more and sign up today at https://lnkd.in/g-HxdJ-9
