“It’s really a no-brainer for the estimators as long as they follow the Rules Engine that you guys have built. We are indemnified, and that limits our liability.” That’s what Jim Guthrie at OpenRoad Collision had to say about using the asTech Rules Engine in their shops. With the Rules Engine, shops can ensure their teams are always following their service standards and never compromise on quality or efficiency. We work closely with our shops to understand their unique needs and configure the Rules Engine to automatically and consistently enforce their business requirements for scanning and diagnostics. The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show is coming soon, and we'll be there to demonstrate the Rules Engine and our entire collision repair suite. Stay tuned for more to come!

  • Master tech-level collision repair recommendations specific to the vehicle and identified DTC codes generated instantly and automatically. That's asTech insights. We’re back with another asTech insight of the Week, where we share real repair recommendations our customers have received from asTech insights, the industry’s first and only AI tool for collision repair. This Week’s Vehicle: 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 From the pre-scan, the detected fault code informed the technician that the radiator may be damaged and coolant levels are below regulating temperature. Additionally, asTech insights identified two other fault codes, recommending the technician to inspect the evaporative emission system components. The identified fault codes help the technician build a complete plan quickly and efficiently to kickstart the proper repairs. #RepairPlanning

  • “We chose asTech because of ease of use, and it’s the right scan on the right vehicle at the right time, especially with your new Rules Engine. It has really made life easy for our estimators. You guys give us the right information, and we know it’s going to be insured from a liability perspective.” That’s what Jim Guthrie at OpenRoad Collision had to say about using the asTech Rules Engine in their shops. With the Rules Engine, OpenRoad Collision can streamline the repair process for both the technician and the estimator, knowing exactly when an OEM scan is necessary or when the asTech All-In-One tool can deliver a guaranteed accurate and verified OEM-Compatible scan locally. This gives OpenRoad Collision the confidence to select the best scan for each repair while still being able to use OEM scans when needed or required by an OEM Certification. This is how the Rules Engine empowers shops and ensures their organizational standards are being met so that every vehicle is repaired safely, properly, and efficiently. We’ve been talking a lot about the Rules Engine lately, and with SEMA coming up, you’ll be able to experience it in person. Stay tuned for more to come!

  • The asTech Rules Engine is more than just scan data. It’s a built-in tool for asTech shop customers to ensure their organization is compliant with their exact repair requirements.    In a recent post we showed how, based on extensive research, asTech can help a shop understand when OEM scans are necessary and when the asTech All-In-One tool can perform equivalent scans locally by performing an OEM-Compatible scan. The asTech Rules Engine identifies which scan (OEM or OEM-Compatible) can reliably be utilized. In this post we’re clarifying how the asTech Rules Engine configurability can standardize a shop’s operations to ensure compliance with requirements imposed by vehicle manufacturer certifications, insurance carriers or other repair requirements. The Rules Engine empowers shops to simplify their diagnostic process to operate more accurately, consistently, and efficiently.    As an example: If a shop is a Subaru Certified Collision Center, which requires an OEM scan for a pre- or post-scans on those vehicles to comply with their certification terms, a shop with the Rules Engine and the asTech All-In-One will have a configured rule that requires OEM scans for pre- and post-repair on all Subarus. Now, for every Subaru, the only scan option will be to connect their asTech All-In-One to our factory SSM tool operated by our Subaru trained technicians.    Although it’s technically possible to perform car side scans on every vehicle, our data indicates that this approach is not the most effective repair strategy. Many of these scans may be unvalidated or “unverified” that aren’t guaranteed to accurately repair the vehicle and won’t be covered by asTech’s indemnification.   For shops that are looking to take a data-driven and rules-based approach to making the most optimal economical scan decision for every vehicle, the Rules Engine’s configuration options are a perfect match.   The Rules Engine gives the shop owner the ability to create and enforce a standard of service that meets their requirements based on their relationship with the OEMs, Insurance carriers and service providers. No matter who picks up the scan tool, every shop policy will be followed.   The configurability options for the asTech Rules Engine are designed to meet the needs of every shop, to ensure the optimal scan is used every time. This is how the Rules Engine empowers shops and ensures their organizational standards are being met that every vehicle is repaired safely, properly, and efficiently.

  • asTech is now the preferred NAPA Auto Parts partner and technology provider for remote programming and diagnostics in North America with asTech Mechanical. asTech Mechanical gives Auto Care centers the ability to remotely access all OEM tools to perform programming functions and vehicle health checks. Short of buying every tool for every manufacturer, asTech Mechanical is the only way to keep every repair in-house that requires an OEM tool to complete. The best part? Shops can add asTech Mechanical to their existing device to access the service. No need to learn a new device, maintain another expensive tool, or have additional specialists on staff. If you’re interested in getting asTech Mechanical for your shop, send us a message or contact your NAPA rep. You can also see asTech Mechanical at the upcoming Ratchet + Wrench conference. Ben Johnson and Chris Chesney will be in Orlando this September.

  • There has been a lot of conversation and questions about the asTech Rules Engine. The asTech Rules Engine is more than a tool – it’s an opportunity to enhance your shop’s performance without compromising on quality or industry standards. The Rules Engine is a proprietary database that identifies the most accurate, efficient, and economical scan option for every vehicle, giving shops the confidence to know they are selecting the best scan for every repair. The Rules Engine provides two guaranteed accurate diagnostic scan options that are designed to complement, not override, OEM standards: 🔹 An authentic remote OEM diagnostic scan through asTech’s patented technology.  🔹 A certified OEM-Compatible scan performed car side. This is a scan that has been verified – through side-by-side testing – to provide results that are equivalent to the authentic OEM tool scan. So how does the Rules Engine know that a scan is OEM-Compatible? We've performed tens of thousands of vehicle scans against the active car parc to identify which of the top aftermarket scan tools yield the same results as the authentic OEM tools. And we continue to gather and refresh this data with ongoing research. It's this data that informs when a scan is truly OEM-Compatible and in the coming weeks we'll have more information about how we test and verify OEM-Compatible scans. • asTech OEM-Compatible scans ensure that shops can get the accuracy of an OEM scan with the efficiency of an aftermarket tool. asTech has tested scans from aftermarket tools against OEM scans across tens of thousands of vehicles. Only the scans we can verify to yield identical results to OEM tools are classified as “OEM-Compatible” or “OEM-C”. This is how we guarantee that your shop will get the same performance as an OEM tool with an aftermarket scan. The advantages of OEM-Compatible scans include: 🔹Accuracy: an OEM-C scan is guaranteed to be equivalent to a scan using an authentic OEM tool 🔹Increased Efficiency: OEM-C scans can be done carside with the asTech All-In-One device in minutes 🔹Choice: OEM-C scanning provides shops flexibility in their scanning options without sacrificing accuracy Learn more about OEM-C and the asTech Rules Engine here: https://lnkd.in/eyr2aW2V
