The promo industry lost a great one yesterday morning. I met Fred Albrecht and life and business partner Suzette Albrecht probably 20 years ago, and had the honor of sitting with them at the Proforma head table nearly every one of those years. They were the No. 1 Proforma owners every one of those years. I remember them busting through 10 million dollars in sales, 20 million, 30 million and 40 million. They missed $50 million by just a hair the past couple of years. Fred was diagnosed about a year ago with a health issue that wasn’t one you fight back from - and Fred, in business and life, was a fighter. And equally humble, smart, caring. In July, we at Advertising Specialty Institute honored Fred and Suzette with our lifetime achievement award. I’m so glad he was able to celebrate that incredible accomplishment and recognition. Proforma Albrecht won many other accolades - best places to work, fastest growing - and Fred even served as mayor of his Ohio town to give back. We shared a special Midwesterner connection. I loved Fred. And you would’ve, too, if you had met him. My heart goes out to Suzette and his entire personal and professional family.
