Shannon Woods is an Assistant Vice President in Asset Management working in the Southeast division on our properties in Florida, Arkansas, and Tennessee. She is known among colleagues for her kind and genuine disposition, her wide breadth of knowledge, and her passion for making a positive impact. 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐩? I’m based in northern Florida now, but originally from outside of Memphis, Tennessee. Since joining April, I’ve had the opportunity to travel back to Tennessee, particularly Nashville, where I’ve been enjoying taking in the sights and sounds of that exciting city. 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐮𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭? I was an English Literature major in college, but found my passion in asset management after taking a summer job working in a leasing office as a favor to a friend. I’ve found true pride and gratification in the people I have worked with throughout my career so far. The chance to make such an impact by providing quality homes and giving residents a safe place to thrive makes my job a joy. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞? Well, I’m a bit of a “beach bum,” so my perfect day would include a trip to St. George Island with my dogs (Daisy, an 11-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer, and Oui and Gunner, 15- and 6-year-old English Cocker Spaniels). We would relax, eat oysters, and spend the day looking at the waves.

Every pallet of food sorted, every meal box packed, and every hour volunteered brings us one step closer to ending hunger in our communities.

At April Housing, we know how important it is to build community within our teams. To celebrate hitting a major milestone last week, our Tax team in Reno spent the afternoon axe throwing. They split up into teams for some friendly competition, blowing off steam and enjoying spending time together outside of the office!
