I’ve known Mike for several years. Not sure how he and I met actually. Mike is one of my favorite humans. Funny as heck. Cray-cray smart. Probably one of the top 5 smartest procurement peeps I know. Mike is a critical thinker, embraces changes and has gone all in on AI in procurement. Mike O'Brien is a former CPO and the former global head of IT procurement at BP. Some of the things Mike accomplished at BP: -Managed BP’s $2B third party IT spend and Vendor Management -Created the Amazon/BP partnership where BP provides up to $1B alternative energy to Amazon -Commercialized BP’s intellectual property and data for digital ventures with service providers and integrators -Enabled BP’s digital and modernization journey through strategic sourcing and partnerships -Exec Sponsor for Low Carbon initiatives for IT and GBS groups -Partnered with suppliers to encourage the use of BP's alternative energy Mike left BP to run ContractAI for App Orchid. Contract AI automates the entire contract lifecycle, from creation to negotiation to execution. Mike partnered with App Orchid while at BP and believed so much in the platform he left BP to work on the ContractAI platform full time. The 411 on Mike outside of his procurement life: 1.
