Dr. Ed Malcom, at Wellstar Health System North Fulton Medical Center, demonstrated this commitment when a patient came in with an LVAD (left ventricular assist device) that was struggling to breath and presented in respiratory failure. With the entire ED team’s swift response and getting the patient stabilized, Dr. Malcom ensured the patient’s wife was present in the resuscitation bay, keeping her informed throughout the critical process. Last week Anna Huneycutt, PA-C, Regional Lead APC, held an Advanced Procedure Clinic in North Carolina. This hands-on clinic went over ultrasound guided IV, airway, and intraosseous access. Thank you Anna for leading another successful clinic, helping our APCs enhance their skills and stay current with advanced techniques.

ApolloMD PA Jarrett Oxendine recently shared his story about how Robeson Community College's EMS program played a pivotal role in his journey to becoming a PA. Starting as a paramedic after completing the program, Jarrett gained valuable experience that helped him get into PA school. Now working in the emergency department at UNC Health Southeastern, Jarrett reflects on how RCC's training set the foundation for his medical career.
