#50in50: It's 1980 and AO's practice is flourishing—serving clients across retail, industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. The firm is designing projects in Los Angeles and Inland Empire, extending its reach beyond Orange County. Significant projects from this period included Ortega Plaza in San Juan Capistrano, the IMO/Delaval CEC Instruments Division Corporate Headquarters in San Dimas, the Montgomery Ward West Coast Combined Distribution Facility in Ontario, and the Morningside on the Lake condos in Orange, which won AO its first design award! These projects highlighted AO's expanding influence and growing presence in the region during the early 1980s. #AO50 #WeAreAO #BetterTogether

#ExcitingNews: AO Partner, Ruba Awad-Moran, LEED AP, was featured on this morning's news with Tim Ezell of Tim's Travels in St. Louis. Touring Ramsay's Kitchen in the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, the newest location in celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's restaurant empire, Ruba shared how the design was inspired not only by the brand and menu, but by the beautiful naturescape of Missouri with nods to the merging rivers and the iconic McBaine Burr Oak tree. We are excited to see this AO design come to life and look forward to the next Ramsay's Kitchen collaboration opening in Reno soon! #AO50 #BetterTogether #AOrestaurantsandinteriors #RamsaysKitchen #StLouis

We are honored to be a part of a team of dedicated and generous professionals as the city of Orange makes a significant step towards providing housing through La Veta Village. This multigenerational affordable housing community will offer homes for families and seniors experiencing homelessness. Together, we are making a meaningful impact and creating a brighter future for the community. #AO50 #BetterTogether #AOmultifamily #HomeAid #Orange #LaVetaVillage
Groundbreaking ceremony for the La Veta Village project in Historic District of the city of Orange took place last week and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have been able to play a very small role in the noble cause of making housing a human right! It’s been a privilege working alongside so many dedicated and generous professionals, to mention a few: HomeAid OC’s great team, our friends and collaborators at AO, New Home Co. and Landsea Homes. #affordablehousing #housingforall #housingishealthcare

#ProjectFeature: Introducing Elliott, a visionary 2-building, 338-unit apartment community reimagining urban living, located on the former Wolfe Sporting Goods warehouse site. Named after local businessman Elliott M. Wolfe, its design draws inspiration from the rugged beauty of Utah's granite mountains and features dynamic façades with recessed balconies and vertical circulation. Elliott fosters a vibrant and creative atmosphere with a public art gallery, event space, and street artist canvases. Residents of the development enjoy interconnected courtyards, a fitness center, and a rooftop deck with sweeping views of the Wasatch Range and Oquirrh Mountains. Elliott ensures easy access to transportation, supporting Salt Lake City's vision for a walkable and connected urban community. Elliott exemplifies AO's commitment to innovative design and community living, capturing the dynamic spirit of the city. With Utah's market booming, we are excited to be part of Salt Lake City's growth and transformation with this project. #50in50: AO’s logo has evolved through several dynamic transformations since its original design was created by founders Jack Selman and Lee Stearns, inspired by Lee's childhood rubber stamps from the 1960s. In 1974, AO's first office opened in the Barger Building in Old Towne Orange. The office entrance was moved from Chapman Avenue to Orange Street and a large hand was painted on the wall to guide visitors to the new front door. As the firm evolved, the joining of the four hands came to represent the original AO team: Jack, Lee, Jerry Kasparek, and Big Al. The logo was refined over the years, with a new triangular and circular design introduced by Eric Gardner in the mid-1980s. This version remained until a redesign in 2019 for AO's 45th anniversary. Today, as we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we proudly display our current logo, a testament to our rich history and forward-looking vision. #AO50 #WeAreAO #BetterTogether

#InTheNews: Check out the latest issue of the San Diego Business Journal, featuring an interview with AO Partner Bruce Greenfield, who discusses how the Element Mission Valley hotel will be a favored addition to its existing Marriott Hotel site. The issue highlights another AO regional project, The Keaton, an innovative multifamily development that will provide over 250 units to the area. These projects showcase the diverse and impactful work our team is proud to bring to life. We are excited to see both projects completed and are grateful for the strong relationships we have with our partners R.D. Olson Construction, Inc. and Protea Properties who make these achievements possible. !
