The IRS announced (IR-2024-212) that it is reopening its Employee Retention Credit—Voluntary Disclosure Program (ERC-VDP) to help businesses fix incorrect ERC claims paid for tax periods in 2021. The ERC-VDP will run through November 22, 2024, and will allow businesses to correct improperly claimed payments at a 15% discount and avoid future audits, penalties, and interest.
