Last week, Project Manager James Goddard (pictured 2nd from right) represented Healthcare Realty on a panel discussion at an event sponsored by the AMFP - Association of Medical Facility Professionals. Held at the Innovation Barn in Charlotte, North Carolina, the event focused on the importance of fostering strong partnerships for successful healthcare real estate development. The panelists, representing owners and operators of healthcare properties, discussed some of the qualities they consider when evaluating architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) firms for a new project. Panelists offered insights on: ☑ How developer / owners of healthcare real estate decide which firms will receive an RFP invitation, what they look for in a proposal, and how they select an AEC partner for a project in development. ☑ Expectations for building long-term AEC / healthcare developer partnerships, as opposed to single-contract relationships. ☑ What AEC firms need to know about the management styles of private building owners and how they may differ from large healthcare systems. ☑ Opinions about the outlook for the healthcare real estate industry and what will define the most valued AEC partners in the years to come.
