“Earning my credentials has opened many doors, allowing me to serve as a program director and educator. When I can help a student image their first patient and see their excitement, it’s incredibly rewarding. Being an R.T. lets me help others and provides numerous opportunities. No matter what the role, the focus on helping others remains constant.” -- Jerilyn Powell, MSAS, R.T.(R)(S)(ARRT), RDMS, RVT, ICE-CCP Chief Education Officer

“One of my proudest moments as an R.T. was when I convinced a reluctant patient to undergo a mammogram. By the end of the exam, we were chatting and laughing. When her report came back, it showed she may have cancer. A month later, she found me to thank me. She said, 'because you talked me through the mammogram, we caught the cancer early, and I’m going to be cancer-free.' We cried, hugged, and shared a moment of relief and joy. This experience, along with my dedication to patient care and continuous learning, makes me proud of my credentials and the impact I have on patients’ lives.” -- Ann D. Miller, BSRT, R.T.(R)(M)(ARRT) Senior Exam Development Coordinator

Although today marks the last day of National Radiologic Technology Week®, we celebrate R.T.s every day! Throughout November, we will continue to highlight R.T.s on our staff and on our Board of Trustees. “One of my proudest moments as an R.T. was working as an MRI Manager. I successfully completed an MRI for a 4-year-old without sedation and discovered a large tumor. After that, the parents requested me for their child's annual MRIs. I also bring empathy when caring for claustrophobic patients, since I’ve experienced it myself. I take pride in providing outstanding patient care and assisting technologists nationwide.” -- Cathy Grengs M.H.A., R.T.(R)(MR)(ARRT) Manager - Education Requirements, Continuing Registration #NRTW #RTProud
