#AATeam member Andres Vergel, a Colombia native, faced many setbacks while on his journey to achieve his dreams in the United States. He enrolled in college to learn English, worked part-time at a library and even faced unemployment. Despite it all, Andres never wavered. He found an interest in aviation and worked as a ramp agent and then as one of the pioneering "Red Coats" at American Airlines. His passion and commitment led him to pursue a degree in aviation while juggling work and his studies. Supported by scholarships, Andres earned an Associate in Science in Business Administration and advanced through various roles, including Tower Coordinator and Duty Manager on Inflight at MIA. The journey doesn’t stop there: Andres is now a Crew Manager at DCA and pursuing an MBA at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He exemplifies perseverance and growth and showcases the power of resilience. #HHM

Now, breast cancer survivors, Armie and Pat reflect on their 30-year friendship journey that started with a single interaction. 💌

On her very first day at American Airlines in 2023, #AATeam member Cathleen Williams celebrated more than just a new beginning — it also marked the triumphant end of her cancer treatment. ❤️ However, in the rush of so much change, Cathleen never rang the bell to commemorate this milestone. To honor her incredible courage and perseverance, Cathleen was surprised with a heartwarming bell-ringing ceremony, surrounded by Stand Up To Cancer placards and the cheers of her colleagues at the DFW Reservations Office. ✈️🔔 This special event was a beautiful celebration of her journey and the unwavering support she found within her American Airlines family. The bell ringing symbolized so much more than the end of treatment — it echoed with hope, resilience and the strength to overcome life's toughest moments. 💝

What a high-flying week at LPA’s Latin Aerospace Expo! ✈️ 🌎 We had an absolute blast connecting with so many talented individuals and sharing the exciting opportunities American Airlines has to offer. A huge thank you to Latino Pilots Association (LPA) for hosting such an incredible event that celebrates Latin culture and achievements in aviation. We’re already counting down the days until next year’s event takes off!

American's Latin Diversity Network EBRG soared to new heights in San José Pinula, near Guatemala City! ✈️ More than 50 passionate #AATeam members from Guatemala and the U.S. recently joined forces to revitalize the Fundaniños Foundation Primary School. Together, they brought new life to the classrooms, cafeteria, and playground, and beautified the school's surroundings.✨ But their efforts went beyond renovation — they also generously donated clothes, toys, and school supplies, showing the true power of compassion and collaboration. ❤️ This initiative is a testament to the strength of community and American Airlines' deep commitment to making a difference in Guatemala.

We will forever hold in our hearts the colleagues, family and loved ones we lost 23 years ago. The American Airlines Flight Academy on our Fort Worth campus is home to a 9/11 memorial garden — a place of reflection and remembrance dedicated to the 23 cherished members of our #AATeam we lost Sept. 11, 2001. We will #NeverForget.
