The ripple effects of wrongful convictions devastate individuals, families, AND communities, highlighting the urgent need for criminal justice reform. Nonprofits play a crucial role in this fight by advocating for policy changes, raising awareness, and mobilizing grassroots efforts. We are committed to creating a just, free, and equitable society for all.
About us
Alliance for Justice is a national association of over 120 organizations, representing a broad array of groups committed to progressive values and the creation of an equitable, just, and free society. Since 1979, AFJ has been the leader in advocating for a fair and independent justice system, preserving access to the courts, and empowering others to stand up and fight for their causes. The two pillars of Alliance for Justice are our Justice Program, focusing on ensuring our nation’s courts protect our critical constitutional rights and legal protections, and our Bolder Advocacy Program, focusing on building advocacy capacity for nonprofits and the foundations that fund them.

Please join us on Tuesday, October 22 at 3pm ET for a conversation with Renee Bracey Sherman, reproductive justice activist, founder and executive director of We Testify, and co-author of the newly published book, Liberating Abortion: Claiming Our History, Sharing Our Stories, and Building the Reproductive Future We Deserve. In her new book, co-authored by Regina Mahone, Bracey Sherman examines the history of abortion access and why reproductive justice is essential in today’s society. Both courts and state legislatures have been attempting to limit abortion access for decades, and after the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs in 2022 to overturn Roe v. Wade, restrictive abortion measures have increased at an alarming rate. People of color bear the brunt of abortion bans, and Bracey Sherman uplifts the narratives of people of color throughout her book. StreamYard webinars do not have automatic captioning, but there are captions available on LinkedIn (https://lnkd.in/gbh66bgT). The event will be recorded.
